French Bull is a contemporary collection designed by Jackie Shapiro. This table top line was launched in 2002 at the Accent on Design Gift Show to an overwhelming response from the top design retailers in the country. The fresh, bold line reinterprets melamine, a nostalgic material popular in the 1960's, with a new look for a modern lifestyle. French Bull brings back this functional, familiar and accessibly priced material in graphic and modern patterns otherwise not available.
Designer Jackie Shapiro's French Bull housewares collection is made of lightweight, durable melamine. These pieces are shatterproof and kid-friendly (give heed, all ye with small children!), high-heat resistant and dishwasher safe. Our large circular platters are available in many different patterns, from a classic black and white floral design to more funky choices like the mosaic and multi-dot prints. A new favorite here at Give Simple is the square platter set, which includes a nine-inch platter and eleven-inch platter, both in the vibrant Carnival pattern. We love it that she loves French Bull too!
About Jackie Shapiro
Jackie Shapiro launched her design career after graduating from Parson’s School of Design majoring in Fashion. Her first job landed her in Italy, working for Milan's innovative fashion house, Fiorucci. Here, Jackie began to develop her bold and graphic, pop culture style. Drawing from her experience designing for others, Jackie began her own children's fashion collection under the "Izzy" label for the next four years. Known for its stylized mix of pattern and color, Izzy was featured in top stores such as Henri Bendel's, Saks and Fred Segal.
As the principal of French Bull, known internationally for redefining the melamine tableware market, Shapiro continues to break new ground and broaden its lifestyle statement. Jackie’s vision is an unmistakable graphic message that is driven by pattern and signature color usage.
